Message In the Department of Humanities and Social Studies, there are five pillars of learning. These are referred to as “fields”. The significance of studying Humanities and Social Studies at Shokei Gakuin University lies not only in taking courses in these five fields, but also in the various areas of specialization within one discipline. Students can take all of the courses that are offered in the department. Students are free to decide how to design the four years of learning to match own interests and plans for the future. In other words, students can construct a curriculum that is unique to each student. This department aims to “optimize learning” for all students. School advisers will help students design a fulfilling curriculum that will make the most effective use of their time. By completing courses offering qualifications, students can also prepare to take examinations for middle or high school teacher licenses or social researcher, social educator, or curator certification.
